India is not going to stop now, not going to slow down: Highlights from PM Modi’s address to Indian diaspora in New York
PM Modi's address at ‘Modi and US’ program is a historic event which is unfolding at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, as 15,000 members of the Indian diaspora gather from 42 different states to welcome the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora on Sunday night during a visit to New York. More than 15,000 people from across America have gathered in Long Island for the historic ‘Modi and US’ program. The PM will also interact with important American business leaders and address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly during his brief stay in the city.
“I have always understood the capabilities of the Indian diaspora. I understood it even when I held no official position...For me, you all have been strong brand ambassadors of India. This is why I call you rashtradoot,” he said
Thousands had gathered outside the Nassau Coliseum ahead of the event — with the organisers indicating that around 25,000 people had registered for passes. Visuals shared online show also several artiste groups playing instruments and practising their dance routines ahead of the event.
Popular artists such as Devi Sri Prasad, Hanumankind, and Aditya Gadhvi also performed in the Nassau Coliseum as part of the event.
Earlier on Saturday the PM had taken part in the Quad Summit and held bilateral meetings with US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Highlights from the Modi and US address:
- Our Namaste has become multi-national, has gone from local to global, only because of you. The warmth and energy of the Indian diaspora in New York is unparalleled
- I travelled in at least 29 states in America even before I was holding any post
- You have connected America to Bharat and Bharat to America. There is no match to you skill, talent, commitment.
- You all have come here from faraway places; some of you are old faces, while some are new ones, and I am thankful to the love I am receiving here. This reminds me of those days when I was not even a politician and I came here to visit this place
- We belong to a country where there are dozens of languages and dialogues, all faiths and religions of the world and yet we are moving forward united."
- For the world, AI means Artificial intelligence, but for me it is America-India

Not Prince Harry or Meghan Markle, Ipsos survey reveals THIS person is most popular royal
People across the globe who follow the British Royals are always curious to know about the most popular member of the first family of the United Kingdom, and a recent Ipsos poll has reveled.
After Diana, the crown of the most popular member among the British Royal family has again returned to the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, also known as Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, after a long time in a new poll out of the United Kingdom.
Most surprisingly, Duke of Sussex Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle stood at 7th and 8th position in the ranking.
According to the Ipsos poll, the Princess of Wales was favoured by a sizable 66% of respondents, while only 10% have an opinion against her. Her husband, Prince William, was second in the most popular royal ranking, with 65% of respondents favouring him, while 13% had an opinion against the crown prince.
Surprisingly, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex have lower favourability ratings. 28% are favourable towards Prince Harry (down 3), with 46% unfavourable (net -18). 21% are favourable towards the Duchess of Sussex (down 4), with over half (53%) unfavourable (net -32).
The public is split on the possibility of Prince Harry returning to royal duties on a permanent basis, with 34% in favour and 37% opposed.
According to the survey, over half (56%) of Britons continue to believe that King Charles III is doing a good job as King. The Royal Family’s image remains positive overall, with 53% of Britons saying they feel favourable towards them (18% unfavourable), while 44% think it would be worse for the country if the monarchy were abolished, versus 23% who think it would be better without it.
Did Royal Family crop out Meghan Markle while sharing Prince Harry’s photo? Buckingham Palace says…
The picture, originally taken during Harry and Meghan’s 2018 trip to Dublin, shows a smiling close-up of Harry. The Royal Family, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales, shared the photo to celebrate Harry’s milestone birthday on Sunday.
“Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” said the post's caption.
